Avant is really a self awarness company launched by former Liberty League International co-founder Brent Payne. Considering the similarities to Liberty League it comes with Liberty League ultimately ran its course, the logical question to ask is actually the Avant business model is viable. This MLM review provides my very own personal thoughts in answering that question.
Regulatory Considerations
Avant has avoided utilisation of the 2-up compensation model that has been part of the original Liberty League model and which initially made them such an easy target for regulators. However that will not mean they're free.
I think, the one biggest challenge with ecommerce model is always that most customers won't repurchase. Sustainable, long-term business growth arises from creating a loyal customer base which happily repurchases products with time; this is actually the best way where businesses survive and prosper within the long term.
The question becomes: are home study courses and conferences truly consumable products that customers continues to repurchase? Historically, the answer is no.
People will pay significant money for private development events with no home business opportunity attached - the prosperity of people including Tony Robbins and Bob Proctor or organizations for example Peak Potentials proves this. However, those events are generally built around highly recognizable speakers with a significant "celebrity" status. Even so, the repeat client base is decidedly modest.
The purchase price point of the merchandise is such how the vast majority of customers are distributors wanting to qualify themselves for that compensation plan. This creates real questions regarding the retail viability of the products. Historically for such products, high no income opportunity attached so many people are unwilling to pay the price for that products.
This has generally been the case for all of the so-called top tier opportunities. This creates tremendous pressure to repeatedly recruit new distributors in order to take care of the viability from the income model. Having less a real retail client base - and consider there is certainly significant movement within the industry towards a voluntary 70% retail rule to appease the regulators - implies that if Avant survives long enough and does well, it will almost assuredly attract close regulatory scrutiny.
Evaluating the Avant Opportunity
Historically, there's been big bucks produced in the private development industry using multi-level marketing. Companies including Liberty League (now Polaris Global), Life Path, and Wealthmasters (although they are something of a hybrid) all have fun playing the top tier direct selling space having a focus on personal growth. In each of those companies, there's a small handful of those who have become successful generating very significant income. Few however have been able to perform so for a sustained time frame due to the must constantly recruit new distributors.
If the Avant products are similar to that relating to Liberty League, Life Path and Polaris, then I expect the events will probably be generally done well and can truly make a direct effect for anyone those who really elect to apply the information. Brent Payne has always consistently delivered solid events and I see pointless not to believe he'll continue doing so again.
